I write because men and women who have worked with me have requested eagerly that I share what we have learned. They wanted others to benefit from our knowledge. They want their stories and my stories to inspire love and know how. We want babies welcomed into and through the space of love.

About me: Susan June De Marco

My nursing and midwifery career has so far spanned thirty five years within several states, more than a dozen hospitals (public and private health care systems) plus a part time Private Midwifery service: Sacred Birth. My private practice included full service antenatal preparation with first time parents, and those who had previous babes; air birth, water birth, and vaginal birth after Caesarean (VBAC) in the place of client choice.

My work in process: I am writing a collection of my wellness and birthing stories, plus birth stories from guest authors. I write for my sisters of same and different skin, for our daughters and babies yet to come. With an aim to share the gathered wisdom in book, booklet and e-book forms. As I write, I seek to respect all and honor the good of the whole. I trust it will complement and benefit what you already know, in the fullness of each moment, personally and professionally. Let life be better in some way, for your presence, for yourself, your family and those who will follow.

I write because men and women who have worked with me as private clients have requested eagerly that I share what I/we have learned. They wanted others to benefit from our knowledge—they want their stories and my stories to inspire love and know how.

We want babies welcomed into and through the space of love whenever possible.

Love comes in many faces, and can be experienced (its presence or lack of) within all kinds of situations; work, chores and all day to day-ness stuff of living–put love into it’s normal cycles with its ups and downs.

I have three grown step-daughters whom I treasure. Each one is a blessing to life in their own beingnavigating the ups and downs as we all must. As every parent does, I want each of our girls to live fulfilled and satisfied lives in the ways they choose and find it hard to see them go through what challenges they must, or choose.

I enjoy feeling well and do my best to maintain health and flexibility after long years struggling with whiplash injury residue and cycles of fatigue. My respite is to be in nature, away from busyness of fast city living. Or soaking in a warm bath. Or the warmth of the sun (covered though). I grew up traveling, seasonally nomadic (due to my late father’s work), in the magnificent ‘red dirt’ of the Out Back of Western Australia. My husband and I delight to visit the ‘red dirt’ and spend weeks, where I have written much of the manuscripts.

My hobbies are to walk, garden and stretch (yoga like). Knitting, crochet, sewing and dressmaking, were once a pleasure. Since moving into private practice, writing and wellness recovery, those hobbies have taken a back seat.

I embrace a spiritual approach to living in a way that suits me. This inner connection with Divine Spirit through spiritual exercises has combined with years of midwifery and wellness experience, and gave a generally quiet (knitting) midwife the courage to go where women wanted to go. Together, I felt we learned and transformed birth to a whole new level: a Way of Sacred Birth. I/we share this for the benefit of others. There are many sacred birth workers with unique approaches planet wide. Known or not known to one another, I know we share a similar Spirit and bring Love back into birththe sacred space of birth and life.

May the Blessings of Divine Spirit Be of course! Kind regards. Susan De Marco
